"Incase anyone wants to learn more about Sephardi Jews in Eastern Europe, they were established there since 13th century. They mostly were segregated, but were mixing with Slavic people some mixed with Ashkenazi. Here is more about my grandfather city Lviv, located on the medieval east-west trade route. Sephardi were very involved in wine trade.
"The area of eastern Poland and western Ukraine, Polish borderline district until the war, was once a flourishing centre of Jewish life. Many small shtetls were located on this trade route, leading from Lviv to Lublin and further west to Krakow, making it an important area for the development of Jewish Poland. On this tour we will take you to a few of the most important cities of this area - Lublin, Zamosc and Lviv. By visiting them you could learn about different streams in judaism and communities like haskalah (Zamosc), hasidism (Lublin), and the sephardic community (Lviv)."
"(Yid., Lemberg; Ger., Lemberg; Pol., Lwów; Rus., Lvov; Latin, Leopolis), city in contemporary western Ukraine, about 65 km (40 miles) from the border with Poland. Jews lived in the city from the time of its establishment in the mid-thirteenth century; some, mostly merchants, were Sephardic residents who later mingled with Askenazic immigrants. In the mid-fourteenth century, after its conquest by King Casimir III, the town permitted Jews to establish a quarter of their own within the walls of a new section built by the king. Two communities thus coexisted: the original and the center within the new walls—known as the Vorstadt (suburban) community."
