Ahhh so by 1523 Cuce was part of Katunska Nahija basically.
I read that around the year 1620 the old population (Old Cuce) began to leave the area. We know that by the year 1690 the people of Zaljut in Velje Cuce were led by Knez Pero Vucic who was a direct descendant of Bajko (J2a). They were already acting like a true tribal community by then as they were attacking Turkish caravans and killing Turks and even Venetians. So by at least the year 1690 it seems like Bajko's descendants were the dominant group in Velje Cuce...Do you agree with that?
In last decades of 16th century and first decades of 17th century pestilence raging in tribe and that causes demographic catastrophe, and under pressure of dominant group of newcomers (J2a), Old Cuce leave area or accept new rulership of J2a.
First mention of J2a chieftain is knez Miljen ancestor of Miljenović family. ŽWe have one tested man from Miljenović family from Forcan family. In time of Miljen up to 1640s ruler of all Cuce and Čevo are Duke Ilija Nikolić and Manojlo. Ilija's wife is sister of Miljen. Their rulership become arrogant and Cuce kill them. After 1640s Cuce doesn't have Dukes until 1858.
Next clash is around 1660s when all Cuce together with Čevo tribe attack Donjekrajci alliance (nominal Cuce de facto newly founded tribe, villages Bašino Selo, Donji Kraj and some other smaller villages) under the pretext that Donjekrajci being aggressive and arrogant.
After 1660s Bajko's (born around 1600) descedants have a significant role. In 1661. Bajko's descedant Savo Krivokapa (ancestor of Krivokapić) mentioned as one of pillagers of Dvrsno in letter of priest Radule of Riđani.
