Founding inscription of medieval Serbian nobleman Dabiživ from 14th century church in Vaganeš, Kosovo and Metohija province, southern Serbia.
Dabiživ was one of the ktetors (founders) of the church and he placed this inscription carved into the stone slab above the entrance of the church in Vaganeš dedicated to Mary Mother of God.
Inscription is telling us that Dabiživ, grandson of Drobnjak, founded the church together with his brothers Hran and Bogoje, and with his father who is a monk and mother Višnja. Another inscription, placed above this one, tells us that church was built in year 1354 or 1355, during reign of Serbian emperor Dušan the Mighty.
