Да не буде забуне, овај 25. април није и званично међународни ДНК дан, већ је као такав установљен у Сједињеним Америчким Државама, а онда не почео обележавати и као Светски ДНК дан.
NATIONAL DNA DAY
On April 25, people across the nation celebrate National DNA Day. This holiday commemorates the day in 1953 when James Watson, Francis Crick, Maurice Wilkins, Rosalind Franklin, along with other colleagues, published papers in the journal, Nature, on the structure of DNA. On this same day in 2003, Human Genome Project was declared complete. (

NATIONAL DNA DAY HISTORY
National DNA Day is not an “official” National day. However, we our research did reveal National DNA Day was first celebrated in the United States on April 25, 2003 by proclamation of both the Senate and the House of Representatives, as a one-time celebration. Each year after 2003, National DNA Day celebrations have been organized by the National Human Genome Research Institute. Since this time, several groups have also declared April 25 as “International DNA Day” and “World DNA Day. (
