1) I have read the Wikipedia article about the Herzegovinian Vlachs and I now understand the concept better. It does seem that the migrating Vlachs could be the link between Macedonia, Albania and Croatia, countries where the haplogroup I-FGC22045 is encountered.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlachs_in_medieval_Bosnia_and_HerzegovinaBy looking at the article about Serbs in Russia and the one about the Herzegovinia Vlachs, I did find another name of a Serbian family who emigrated to the Russian Empire that could be of Vlach origin. The name is Vojnović and was originary from Dalmatia. Maybe someone knows the Y haplogroup of this family.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marko_Voinovichhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vojnovi%C4%87_noble_family2) Probably very few of those that read this thread know about a possible mention of the Vlachs (written as "Blakumen") on a Scandinavian runestone from around 1050. The Rumanian historians (Spinei, Curta, Madgearu) say that the short text is about Vlachs, while other historians disagree. You can read the Wikipedia article below:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlakumenStrangely enough, in the article there is also a reference about a Blakumen mention in a medieval Icelandic manuscript speaking about one of the rulers of Kievan Rus'.
The runestone does not offer any information about the geographical place of the encounter with the Blakumen, but if it would be the Balkans, we may have another theory about how the I-FGC22045 haplogroup arrived there. This theory could explain the big problem with the Norman theory, which is the missing link between Scandinavia and the Balkans, that is the absence of I-FGC22045 (or a very closely related haplogroup) in France (Normandy) or Italy (Sicily).
3) On FTDNA there is a match from Macedonia with the I-FGC22045 haplogroup (he appears in the Y-DNA Haplotree). Is he a Y-STR match (Y-12, Y-25, etc.) with someone that has the I-FGC33034 haplogroup or one of its branches? You can check this by sorting the Y-STR matches list by haplogroup or by country. Maybe he offers some useful information. Also, has anyone tried to contact Mr. Nuzda (also I-FGC22045 on FTDNA) to ask about his place of origin or to see if he is interested to take the Big Y test? And finally, something about the other I-FGC22045, Stephan WD. I remember that he has contacted me in September 2020 to ask if I intend to upload the Big Y result of my father to YFull. I said no at that time, but I did it this year. Has anyone contacted Stephan WD to ask if he will take the Big Y test and then upload the result to YFull?
4) Concerning Rolf Johansson, I forgot to tell about something strange. When I talked with his nephew, R. Olofsson, he told me that his uncle had taken the Y-37 test and then bought some SNP packs. But then he told me than when he, R. Olofsson, clicks on the upgrade option to Big Y, the price is 319 USD. This surprised me, because I have access to the FTDNA account of someone who has also taken the Y-37 test, but did not buy any SNP packs. And the price for his upgrade was the same, 319 USD. I was under the impression that FTDNA automatically lowers the price of the upgrade to Big Y if someone has bought additional SNP packs. I told this to R. Olofsson and urged him to contact FTDNA about this situation, maybe he will have the upgrade at a significantly lower price. He didn't wrote to me afterwards, so I don't know if he did this or not. Zeljko, you can help if you want. I know only about the Father's Day and Thanksgiving/Black Friday Y-DNA sales at FTDNA. If you know about an Y-DNA August sale, you can write to R. Olofsson (if his uncle is not a match, I can give you his e-mail) to see if he can buy the upgrade in August. I could write myself, but I don't want to seem as I'm pushing him to buy the upgrade. But again, he may decide against it, because his primary interest is more about the identity of his uncle's great-grandfather. He asked me if Big Y 700 could help with this, and I told him that this could be of help only if the Big Y result of his uncle uploaded to YFull reveals a close relationship with the I-FGC22046 Swede that is already on YFull.
5) And speaking about the I-FGC22046 Swede from YFull, on FTDNA his name is A.K. Bergqvist and is a Y-12 match with my father. He mentions the same distant ancestor (Erik Andersson Bergqvist b. 1752 in Sala, Västmanland County, Sweden) on FTDNA and YFull, so it's clearly the same person. He has the I-Y83335 haplogroup on FTDNA, which on their Haplotree is a child branch of I-FGC22048, alongside the other child branch, I-FGC22045. On YFull he is a SNP match with my father and he has the I-FGC22046 haplogroup. I wonder why YFull has not added I-Y83335 as a separate branch of I-FGC22046 (their version of FTDNA's I-FGC22048).
