Tekst na jednoj stranici karpatskih Rusina. "Kulturno nasljeđe istočne Slovačke predstavlja arheološke nalaze u istočnoj Slovačkoj koji se izravno vežu za Balkan"
Most of us are surprised when we first find "Balkan" in our 'pure' Rusyn DNA, and the question of how and why comes up frequently. Here the FB page Kultúrne dedičstvo východného Slovenska (Cultural Heritage of Eastern Slovakia) presents archaeological findings in Eastern Slovakia that tie in directly to the Balkans. So if you are looking for how and why of finding Balkan DNA, you have to consider WHEN that admixture may have occurred, in truly ancient times or in the past few centuries. Part of what they write here is: "<with the advent of farming> Some people from southern Europe and the Balkans were moving to the middle, looking for a new living space, empty areas where only groups of hunters and gatherers lived." "Archaeology, anthropology, and science offer us this scenario." "In Eastern Slovakia it was a culture with eastern linear ceramics, typical of painting pots. Decoration has changed slightly in different phases and regions, but the artistic maturity of the first farming communities still amazes us today." "The containers in the figure, with preserved dye residues, are proof of this. There are vessels of the mentioned culture with eastern linear ceramics, groups of Raškovce originating from Velké Raškovce from 6th millennium BC."
Velké Raškovce is on the fertile plains near Trebisov - Michalovce, not deep in the Carpathian Mountains, but distinctly in regions settled by "Rusyns" 9 and 10 thousand years later.
